I think he was staring into what his future could be and who he would become. I think he was intrigued in a way by the man and not frightened. Frequently it seems that when a murder occurs, its a result of fear. But this case i think was envy. I think he wanted to kill the man to defeat him, there for in a way defeating his future self.MollyBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09457668036067416732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981242838429313073.post-8530703386179965182010-11-08T15:22:06.134-08:002010-11-08T15:22:06.134-08:00Did the police men really know the heart was beati...Did the police men really know the heart was beating, it seemed to me like they did not but Poe was convinced they could. If you had only read the first paragraph what would you think the narrator was talking about when he talked about the disease. To answer emily k i think that a mental institution tends to make the crazy people more crazy because they are confined to themselves and their thoughts and they arent able to talk to anyone normal.cody mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07353270914096293491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981242838429313073.post-8347708347517373882010-11-07T14:54:07.947-08:002010-11-07T14:54:07.947-08:00I am questioning wether there was a heartbeat. I agree with Dan when he said; "He is very paranoid because of the fact that he keeps trying to say hes not crazy over and over." I wonder what the old man's eye symbolized. Did it symbolize how some people are ignorant to others actions? I agree with Marie and Cortez when they said that people who are crazy think that they are normal and that the rest of us are crazy. I an questioning what the ray of light, and what him sitting on top of the floorboards symbolized. :)Dakota G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12946407458258040512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981242838429313073.post-72057712938893146632010-11-05T12:08:35.504-07:002010-11-05T12:08:35.504-07:00I agree with connor that this coiuld have been set...I agree with connor that this coiuld have been set off by soomething else, something we don't know oflbutlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16436977093940336502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981242838429313073.post-18812477669511689282010-11-05T12:06:46.532-07:002010-11-05T12:06:46.532-07:00Emily- I think the heart beat was a symbol of the ...Emily- I think the heart beat was a symbol of the guilt and need to tell the truth throbbing inside of him and wanting to be exposed.jacobs2012https://www.blogger.com/profile/13480531683592197076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981242838429313073.post-67547481485272430702010-11-05T12:04:16.658-07:002010-11-05T12:04:16.658-07:00Earl, i think that crazy people probably believe t...Earl, i think that crazy people probably believe that their normal and were crazy.
